At Kincaid Montessori School, our curriculum is designed to:
- Allow students to work at their own pace, with the teacher introducing new materials only as current materials are mastered, to ensure success rather than frustration.
- Put emphasis on the process rather than the product of learning.
- Promote mastery of self and environment, self-discipline, and social competence.
- Explore math, language, geography, botany & science, social studies, art and music, involving children in a series of sequential, manipulative, and sensorial activities that lead them from concrete to abstract learning.

Our school follows the Montessori method of teaching with an emphasis on practical live, sensorial enrichment, language development, music and art appreciation. In addition to the Montessori foundation, we also emphasis social studies, geography and science, foreign language and computer training to develop dexterity and the basic concept of computer technology.
Our classrooms are designed to aid in the social and educational foundations of the Montessori method.
Our dedicated teaching staff directs learning through exploration believing that in order to develop their intellectual, social and physical skills to the fullest, children must have freedom achieved through order and self discipline. Classroom environments and teaching materials are designed to make the most of the child’s natural intellect, curiosity, and love for learning.

Our older toddler program has a child teacher ratio of 8:1
The Toddler program at Kincaid Montessori School is geared to the unique stages of development of the our growing students. Our objective is to provide a safe and independent learning environment concentrated in the cognitive, social, motor and language development especially selected for children of this age.
Primary (3 – 6 years old)
Our primary program has a child teacher ration of 10:1.
Between 18 months and three years, toddlers like to exert their independence as they develop cognitively. They experience growth spurts physically and cognitively; they begin to speak in sort sentences and understand concepts. Staff at Kincaid Montessori School will encourage these leaps in development and encourage social activities, since this is the age when they begin to enjoy playtime with other children.
Kindergarten (4 – 6 years old)
Our kindergarten program has a child teacher ration of 10:1.
Our full-day kindergarten allows those who are eligible to continue their quest for knowledge in a small group environment. Students who turn five by September 30th are eligible for our kindergarten program. Students attend the Montessori classes in the morning. During afternoon kindergarten, students go to another classroom with a Montessori teacher and a full set of age- and ability-level materials. Students work on advancing their academics, along with receiving individual tutoring in reading and handwriting skills.
Before and After Care (7:00 AM- 8:30 AM And 3:00 PM – 6:30 PM)
For our extended care students, Kincaid Montessori School has created an excellent afternoon program. Montessori teachers continue to care for the students which enables the children to have the same adults with them all day. This is a great time for students to develop language and social skills. During this time, children are encouraged to do independent play as well as play in small groups. Weather permitting, we explore and exercise in our large outdoor playground. Our before and after care activities are designed as an extension of the Montessori classroom and encourage Montessori methods.
